The Real Estate Office is an administrative unit of Syracuse University reporting to the Director of Purchasing and Real Estate. Purchasing and Real Estate report to the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. One of the duties of the Real Estate Office is the administration of the University’s Guaranteed Mortgage Program.

The office provides cost effective real estate services in support of the University’s mission, and is charged with all administrative and management duties and record keeping functions relating to University owned and leased real property, administration of the Guaranteed Mortgage Program, coordination and payment of property taxes, filing of appropriate real property tax exemption applications and renewal forms, and provides oversight of the management of University owned Marshall Square Mall, residential rental properties on Ostrom Avenue, the Phoebe’s Restaurant property at 900 East Genesee Street, the JPMorgan Chase space in Lyman Hall, the Research Park, and the ground leases for the private student housing ventures.
To provide sound leadership, direction and oversight for the acquisition, leasing, management and disposition of University real property both domestic and worldwide in accordance with the University’s core principles and values.
